Home permits up 49.9% in Valley

The constructioin Industry Research Board monthly update of building permit activity in the Antelope Valley shows the building boom in single-family homes consinues unabated.
 
The first 10 months of 2005, compared with the first 10 months of 2004, registered a 68.1% increase in the number of permits pulled for single-family homes in Lancaster, a 33.8% increase in Palmdale and a 29.9% boost for the unincorporated Antelope Valley area, for an average 49.9% increase in the Valley.
 
The average value of single-family building permits in from January to October in Lancaster increased from $262,667 in 2004 to $434,530 in 2005, an increase in value of 65.4%. For Palmdale in average value of January to October single-family building permits increased from $246,757 in the first 10 months of 2004 to $345,902 in the first 10 months of 2005, an increase of 40.2%.
