| Car dealerships help drive AV economy |
| LANCASTER- The 14 dealerships, which control 23 franchises, employ 983 workers, Mike Johnson, owner of Antelope Valley Ford at the Lancaster Auto Mall, said. The value of their facilities, $46 million, yields $644,000 in property tax increments that provide $230,000 in tax increments to Palmdale and Lancaster. |

| Annual sales for the franchised dealerships add up to $651 million, which generates $41.6 million in sales tax revenues. Of that amount, the cities receive $5.64 million a year. Overall, Johnson figured sales from the dealerships generate $5.87 million to the cities to spend on safety, schools and government services. |
